RealTrue® Home Team was founded on a simple belief: real estate decisions deserve thoughtful strategy, clear communication, and trusted guidance.
Led by Associate Broker and U.S. Navy veteran Jean Johnson, the team supports buyers, sellers, and investors across Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, and the greater Hampton Roads region. With a process-driven approach rooted in integrity and preparation, RealTrue® helps clients navigate each stage of homeownership with clarity and confidence.

From first-time buyers to long-term investors and families relocating to the area, our goal is always the same: to provide steady leadership and thoughtful execution throughout every step of the real estate journey.

Because of that, I have always believed that real estate should feel less like a transaction and more like trusted guidance.

When I began my career in real estate, I brought with me nearly two decades of experience serving the Navy community, first as an enlisted sailor, later as a commissioned officer, and eventually as a civilian engineer and professor. Those experiences shaped how I approach everything today. Preparation matters. Communication matters. And when people place their trust in you during an important decision, you show up fully prepared to serve them well.

That mindset still guides the way I work with clients.
My role is to help people navigate complex decisions with clarity. Sometimes that means studying the market carefully and building a strategic plan for a home sale. Other times it means helping buyers sort through the emotional and practical sides of finding the right home. Every situation is different, but the goal is always the same: helping clients move forward with confidence.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving military families relocating to Hampton Roads, homeowners making lifestyle transitions, and investors building long-term real estate strategies. Those relationships have reinforced something I believe deeply: trust is built through preparation, honesty, and consistent communication.

Today I lead the RealTrue® Home Team at SERHANT., along with RealTrue® Property Management and the RealTrue® Network. Together, these platforms allow us to support clients not only through a single transaction, but throughout the many chapters of their real estate journey.
